Winter Weekend Getaway to Great Wolf Lodge
We recently took a quick trip to Great Wolf Lodge in the Pocono Mountains of PA.
I wanted a quick local winter getaway for us and it turned out to be exactly that!
Indoor Water Park
The main attraction is the indoor water park and this is where we spent the majority of our stay.
The water park has plenty of age appropriate rides and features for young kids and toddlers. Our two-year old enjoyed himself thoroughly in the Cub Paw Pool area, which perfectly fit his splashing needs! There are small water slides, geysers and a playground with tons of water features.
Safety was not a concern either, as there were plenty of lifeguards around and life vests for all ages. Of course you can’t let your toddlers run around on their own as they can get overly excited!
Other Fun
Other than the water park, we were able to spend some time in the arcade. The arcade has all of your typical video games and other games, that are mostly for older kids but luckily they also have a small section of small rides and mini games for toddlers that we were able to enjoy.
Great Wolf Lodge does have more activities on site, including bowling, movie theater, mini golf and quests but we did not try out any of these because 1) we were already pretty exhausted from the water park and 2) we just didn’t think they were meant for our 2 year old right now! But I’m sure we’ll test them on future visits!
The other great thing about Great Wolf Lodge is that they have a lot of character interaction options. In the evenings, there's story-time, dance parties, and character appearances which can be fun for all ages.
Overall, it was a great winter getaway with plenty of activities for young kids, even toddlers!
