Check out these masala spiced travel snack ideas for quick, easy, healthy but super flavorful travel ready munching on the go! I got you covered with a little sweet, a little spicy, and even a little cheesy!
So whenever I start prepping for a trip, I always break out my spreadsheets and start making lists: itineraries, clothes to pack, food to bring. etc. The lists go on and on! My husband definitely thinks I'm nuts sometimes, but then he also relies on my lists to make sure we don't forget the essentials. Now that we're traveling with two little kids the lists have expanded exponentially!
Traveling with kids means not only packing extra swim diapers and double the amount of sunscreen but I'm also looking out for healthy travel snacks. Gone are the days, when a bag of chips and package of cookies was enough for a couple hours! I mean first of all, that sugar high that we would be dealing with while locked up in a car is not ideal lol. But also, I have to think about the mess factor, ease of eating, nutrition value, and most of all appeal/taste! Believe me, packing for kids is not easy!
So I have some ideas for a few quick prep masala spiced travel snack ideas that will make any trip more enjoyable! I like these homemade snacks because they're all so quick and easy to make (this is vital when prepping and packing for a trip because my mind is usually on a few different things at once). All are made with healthy, guilt-free ingredients and everything is portable!
Coco-Nutty Ladoos
These are delicious little energy bites! The primary ingredients are only coconut, nuts and dates. But also flavored with cardamom powder and vanilla for the perfect little sweet bite.

Kashmiri Chili and Cheese Popcorn
Popcorn is a great snack for travel, its a much healthier option than chips and so much easier to make at home! Try this easy to prep and super flavorful spicy and cheesy flavored popcorn. The Kashmiri chili is usually milder chili powder so depending on your kids spice tolerance, they might just love it too. And if not, well that just means more for you!

Chaat Masala Mixed Nuts
Here's a great option for the energy you need from a trail mix but the seasoning you get from you favorite chevda (minus the deep frying!) Just grab any combination of raw mixed nuts you have at home, season them with olive oil and chaat masala and pop them in the oven while you take care of other stuff. 20 minutes later and you got a delicious guilt free snack ready to be packed up!

Now while you're busy packing and prepping for the vacation don't forget also bring essentials like:
- A cooler filled with bottled water, sports drinks, juice boxes
- Lots and lots of napkins
- Cheap sippy cups, ones that you're ok losing!
- Extra plastic bags for trash and storage
- Additional store bought snacks like: granola bars, crackers, pretzels, apple sauce pouches
